What I am listening to

Today I want to share with you a few of my favourite podcasts. I listen to a lot of them, but there are three that I keep waiting for on a weekly basis.

Be the boss!

First off: Being Boss, hosted by Kathleen Shannon and Emily Thompson. If you want to be boss in your life and your career this podcast is for you. Geared towards creative entrepreneurs, they talk about motivation, systems, doing the work, getting through the hard times, and celebrating the good times. And they are not scared of digging into spirituality, sexuality, motherhood or anything woo woo. Which I love! I think it is so freeing that it is possible to address the practical, how-to side of your business, as well as what makes us tick as humans. Kathleen and Emily have a no bullshit attitude towards doing the work and making things happen. If you haven't heard the Being Boss podcast yet, I recommend you go check it out.

Contemporary gossip

Another favourite is Art For Your Ears, with Danielle Krysa a.k.a. The Jealous Curator. If you like contemporary art, and you are interested in hearing how other artists came to be, their path from growing up and growing into themselves, this is a great resource. From The Jealous Curator website: "... inside-scoop stories from amazingly talented contemporary artists. Each episode is just long enough for you to listen while drinking your morning coffee, or during a weekend run, or while working in the studio. Ultimately it’s a chance for all of us to get to know these successful artists, who also happen to be regular people with hilarious stories, before they’re in the art history books". Danielle is funny, curious, and has an amazing ability to make her guests sound at ease. She also know exactly what the important questions are, especially during the not so speedy speed round!

Break free

Last, but certainly not least is Creative Pep Talk by Any J. Miller. Andy is an illustrator and speaker, and he has a passion for helping creative's bridge the gap between art and business. He has a lovely sense of humour, he can come up with the craziest analogies to bring the point home, and at the same time just being human, and sharing personal stories with great insight anyone can relate to. From the Creative Pep Talk website:  "Through ridiculous analogies, personal stories and artist interviews, Andy hopes to help you break free from confusion and make a plan for your creative career success!" I always find myself talking notes, rewinding to hear a point again, and going aha!, and every episode makes me want to get cracking on whatever creative project I am busy with.

I am not in any way affiliated with any of these podcasts, I just happen to think they are super amazing, so go check them out! I would like to hear what you think, and also if you have any recommendations for pods you are listening to. Hit me up in the comments!
